Mental Health Coaching
Aileen Fleming
Aileen Fleming is a trained Steven Turnbull Psychology & Motivation Accredited Coach.
She uses a blend of coaching and counselling skills to empower clients with mental health challenges to adopt researched and evidence-based strategies and techniques designed to reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
As well as formal training, her background in pastoral care and provision of support to victims of sexual and domestic abuse has enabled her to have a trauma-informed understanding of mental health.
Positive Mental Health Coaching is delivered through one-to-one sessions using a ‘person-centred’ approach. Each session provides the client with a safe and compassionate environment to tell their personal story and explore their own mental health history.
Sessions are also dedicated to understanding and practically addressing the issues that impact our mental health – maintaining a healthy brain, managing a healthy mind, pursuing healthy connections and living life with purpose and significance.
As well as working with private clients from all walks of life, she has delivered Positive Mental Coaching for Bonnyrigg Rose FC to their local community and the Chris Mitchell Foundation to males and females involved in professional football.
Here are some quotes:
“8 months ago, out of nowhere I was hit with anxiety. It felt like I was falling apart and going crazy. I tried to overcome it and after a few weeks realized I needed help. I was put in touch with Aileen and the first time we met I was a mess. Tears, chaos, confusion and she was understanding and professional. She explained her process and I remember thinking this is going to be the longest 10 weeks of my life. As I began to implement her steps into my life I didn’t “feel” anything at first. After our final session I’m glad to say that’s not the case anymore. I’m well on my way to a FULL recovery. I would highly recommend Aileen and her services. It was one of the best things I could have done. Thank you, Aileen, for giving me the life tools I need to overcome anxiety.”

“I now am much clearer how my mind works and how important it is to look after yourself and how I treat myself. Positive self-talk and ‘enjoying writing my football story and stop worrying how it's going to end’ has been so beneficial to me over the past few weeks. I also think I’m getting to know and understand myself better and how to protect myself from negative connections in life.” Female Professional Footballer
“I have realised that within myself I can manage in some ways that I didn’t think would be possible. Before learning to manage, I had feelings of hopelessness and uselessness, however, now I realise that when I have these feelings there are ways, I can manage them, it won’t make them go away but being able to manage them has been so helpful for me.”
